Julie Christensen – Licensed Marriage And Family Therapist, MFC#48350
Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, Julie Christensen’s background was in business administration. She worked for the airline and banking industries primarily in training and management.
Julie received her master’s degree in counseling psychology from John F. Kennedy University in 1999. Ms. Christensen’s specialization is in transpersonal psychology. Transpersonal psychology unites the spiritual with psychological aspects of human experience, addressing the integration of the whole person – body, mind, emotion, energy and spirit.
In addition, she is a graduate from the three-year intensive psychotherapy training program at the Link Marriage and Family Institute in Atlanta, Georgia. While in Atlanta, Julie maintained a private practice and worked as a counselor for an Atlanta based psychiatric hospital.
Ms. Christensen was the lead therapist for a well respected local partial hospitalization program. She conducted both educational and therapy groups for their dual diagnosis program.
In addition to Julie’s training as a psychotherapist, she has received additional certifications to enhance her work. Julie maintains certification in the following areas:
- EMDR – Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
- Hypnotherapy
- Past life regression
- Holy Fire Reiki Master
Julie also maintains a separate alternative healing business as a psychic medium called Luminous Passages, LLC. Due to the nature of psychotherapy, she does not do readings once you have been seen as a psychotherapy client. You are welcome to see Julie initially, one time, as a medium and then transfer to psychotherapy if you wish. You may also transfer to Luminous Passages once your therapy goals have been met and your treatment concluded. Julie does welcome questions about her work and enjoys supporting your spiritual growth on the path of your choice.
As both a wife and mother, Julie understands the joys and challenges of raising children. She enjoys travel, camping, paddle boarding, and spending time with family, friends and her three cats.
